Review: Body Shop Colour Crush Eyeshadows

Price: AUD $17.95 (I actually purchased them when I was on holiday in Malaysia because they are cheaper due to the exchange rate and prices and I also got another 20% off because they were on special).
Rating: 4/5

We’re back!
What’s happened in the time we were gone? Well we have sorted out the layout/design of our blog and I have fallen head over heels in love…
...With the most buttery, smoothest, nicest eyeshadows in the world. I picked up two eyeshadows from The Body Shop, because I swatched them in the shop and they were the most pigmented eyeshadows I have ever touched. I swept my finger delicately in the pot and my finger picked up a tonne of product. I was happily surprised. My reaction to them was more like “holy moly these are great.” By the time I ran out of the store my hand was covered in swatches of all the colours, and my hand glistened like Edward Cullen from Twilight, well not really. They are less tacky. The product is finely milled, and the shimmer doesn’t look tacky, but instead it glistens in the most beautiful way, especially in the light.

The product goes on evenly and smoothly, and there is no fallout. The range of colours (there are 16, and currently there are six limited edition colours available) in the collection has most basic colours available and are all pigmented. I picked up two colours, number 210 (Bronze Bliss) & number 201 (Melt My Heart). As you can tell by the names, well Bronze Bliss anyway, it is a bronze with shimmer. Melt My heart, is basically just a lighter version of Bronze Bliss, also shimmery.

Swatches of the two products. Bronze Bliss on the left and Melt My Heart on the right.
(I don't have photos of them in the packaging because they look very similar to each other when in the packaging).

The packaging of the eyeshadows are nice and compact, but the hinge is a bit creaky and feels a tad fragile. I actually like that they don’t come with brushes, (hear me out) because I think the brushes given to me are awful and I never use them, so the brushes given to me would just go to waste.

I haven’t had a huge amount of time to play with the shadows, but these are my first impressions, and so far I am impressed and over the moon with my purchase. What’s even better about these products is that they’re cruelty free! So I don’t feel bad about wanting every colour, even though I know I can’t justify getting all of them.
